New Patients Welcome

Your first visit
starts here

I take the time to truly understand your health picture before recommending anything. Here's exactly what to expect — and how to get started.

What to Expect

A visit built around
you, not a template

My approach to new patients is unhurried and thorough. I don't run through a checklist — I genuinely want to understand your history, your current concerns, and what you're hoping for from your care.

Most patients leave their first visit with a clearer understanding of what's happening in their body and a realistic picture of what's possible — whether that involves chiropractic, nutrition, or both.

2

Your Health History

At your first visit, I'll review your full health history — not just your current complaint. Understanding the context matters.

3

Examination & Assessment

A thorough physical and structural examination. For nutritional consultations, this may include muscle testing and a discussion of hair mineral testing options.

4

Your Care Plan

You'll receive an honest assessment of what I find and what I recommend. Nothing is pushed — you'll leave with information and options, not a sales pitch.

Common Questions

Things new patients often ask

Do you accept insurance? +
Yes — Dr. Troy accepts most major insurance plans, as well as L&I (Labor & Industries) and motor vehicle accident claims. Call the office at (360) 893-8586 and we'll be happy to verify your coverage before your visit.
Do you take cash patients? +
Absolutely. Dr. Troy sees cash patients and offers flexible wellness plans as well. You don't need insurance to be seen — just call the office to discuss your options and we'll find something that works for you.
Can I get an adjustment without insurance? +
Yes. Dr. Troy performs adjustments for cash patients and wellness plan members — insurance is not required. Many patients pay out of pocket for ongoing wellness care and find it very affordable. Call the office to learn about current rates and wellness plan options.
How long is the first appointment? +
Plan for about an hour for your first visit. I take time to review your full health history and conduct a thorough assessment — this is not a rushed appointment.
What should I bring to my first visit? +
Bring any relevant medical records or imaging (X-rays, MRIs), and a list of current medications or supplements. If you're using insurance, please bring your insurance card so we can make a copy. A brief description of your main concerns written ahead of time can also be helpful.
Is there new patient paperwork I can fill out ahead of time? +
New patient paperwork is coming soon to this page — check back or call the office at (360) 893-8586 and we can email it to you ahead of your appointment so you're ready to go on arrival.
Do you see children and babies? +
Yes — I work with patients from birth to 100+, including newborns, infants, children, and pregnant women. Chiropractic care for babies is gentle and safe, and many parents bring their newborns in shortly after birth. My own childhood experiences with ear infections and chiropractic care shaped his deep commitment to pediatric and prenatal care.
Do I need to be in pain to visit? +
Not at all. Many of my patients come in for wellness care, nutritional support, or preventive health — not because something is acutely wrong, but because they want to maintain great health and catch imbalances early.
What's the difference between a regular chiropractor and Dr. Troy? +
I'm a highly experienced chiropractor — but my practice also includes a second clinical specialty in nutrition, including applied kinesiology (muscle testing) and hair mineral analysis. This whole-health approach means I can often identify and address root causes that purely structural care would miss.
